Architect José Manuel Garrido
About me
When I was a child, I loved to draw. Like many children do.
Unlike most, I never stopped.
What began as simple sketches gradually became houses — first imagined, then
studied, and eventually understood.
There were no architects in my close environment to guide me. But an uncle once
shared old drafting materials from the 1950s — detailed plans of chalets drawn entirely
by hand. Those drawings fascinated me. I began copying them, then adapting them,
and finally creating my own designs.
Architecture was not a sudden
decision. It was a natural evolution.
With the support of my parents and after completing one of the most demanding
academic paths, I turned that passion into a profession.
But experience teaches something essential:
Architecture is not about imposing a style. It is about understanding people.
Over more than two decades working on the Costa del Sol, I have learned that
technical knowledge alone is not enough. Especially when clients are building or
renovating a property in a country that is not their own.
My role goes beyond design.
I guide, supervise and protect the process.
I work on a limited number of projects at a time to ensure direct involvement, clear
communication and strict supervision — from the first feasibility analysis to the final
registration of the property.
Most of my clients are international professionals and entrepreneurs who value:
• Legal certainty
• Realistic budgeting
• Structured project management
• Long-term investment vision
•And a home that reflects their lifestyle
Architecture, for me, is not an artistic ego exercise. It is a professional responsibility.
If you believe I may be the right architect for your project in Marbella or the Costa
del Sol, let’s talk.
